Chris Martin
Chris had an engineering apprenticeship with Mullard Ltd where he was trained on all types of machines ,tool making, fitting and maintenance, inspection, planning and drawing office.
Chris attended further education college and gained his ONC,HNC and with endorsement subjects qualified for the institute of Production Engineers.
Following this Chris worked in engineering mainly designing special purpose machines with Alan Worswick Engineering, Rolls Royce Aero, Daniel Doncaster and was self employed as a design engineer working for a wide range of industries such as Textiles, Plastics, Paper and Nuclear.
He then embarked on a management career as Work and Quarry manager with Marley Roof Tiles and a further two Roof tile companies and a Block maker as general manager.
Chris ran his own company specialising in reinforced soil structures and Geogrid testing for thirty years and licenced his intellectual property and Patents to international companies.
For the last sixteen years Chris has worked as a teaching assistant with a Boys Public School and a Consultant with DATA – The Design and Technology Association.

Chris provides training services throughout the south of England and overseas. Helping to improve the standard of Design and Technology Teaching at Primary and Secondary level in schools.
Accredited training for subjects covered include:
FOOD
Teaching food technology forms a vital link to our pupils’ future and that of their families to come. Knowing how to store, prepare and cook our food are the three fundamental basics – knowledge of personal hygiene and the dangers that are present.
TEXTILES
Basic fabrication techniques will be learned from simple sewing machine to CAD and CNC controlled embroidery machines. Dying techniques for the creation of a myriad of designs for different fabrics.
SYSTEMS & CONTROL
Systems and control will help pupils understand their lived in environment and possibly help them in their career choice.
RESISTENT MATERIALS
Using hand tools of many types available in most workshops will require proper instruction in their use along with any dangers in their misuse or accident and of course the required skills which have to be gained.
